THE DROWNING GIRLS
"I've never seen anything like that before!"
"That is the most intense start of a show I've ever seen."
"I had no idea what to expect. WOW."
Based on a true crime event from the early 1900s, THE DROWNING GIRLS tells the story of a man who targets vulnerable women and progressively moves from simply swindling them of their life savings, to drowning them in their bathtubs. The events in this fast-paced, one-hour show are described from the perspective of three dead brides, women who have finally found their voices and freed themselves from the bonds of both their killer and their repressive, patriarchal society.
Using aerial silks as an integral element of the staging and story-telling, this performance carries an urgency, intensity and beauty that will simultaneously stun and delight. Rather than coming across as heavy or depressing, this plays as a taut, dark thriller with themes that are still relevant today.
